Near Bwindi there is a project working – with remarkable dedication – to rescue and rehabilitate the rare pangolins.

Rangers take them into the fields each day and watch over them before returning them to safe housing overnight.

They are sweet, gentle creatures that are poached for their unusual scales which some cultures think have magical healing powers.
